I eat guys like you for breakfast!

[link] Here's a hilarious compilation of 50 of the worst voice acting lines from video game history.

Well, it's definitely not August anymore and even though I hate talking about myself here's an update on my dubiously interesting life! Wheeeee!

I plan on switching employers soon, but I'll be doing the same work that I've been doing for the past year, so that only barely qualifies as "news". I haven't even bothered to tell my family about this. Still, I might get a raise (or "rise", if you're British), which is pretty neat.

More interestingly, a few weeks ago hilarity ensued while I was at the gas station. Just as I was about to get into my car, the front bumper was smashed in by one of the biggest pickup trucks I've ever seen. Turns out there was no one behind the wheel of that thing, the owner just forgot to set the parking brake before he walked into the store. He seemed pretty thankful that I didn't blow up on him, but to be honest a smashed bumper is hardly the end of the world. The only thing that would've made me mad is if he had driven off after the crash, but that's kind of hard to do if you're not actually driving your truck when the accident happens.

Conveniently, the dude runs his own auto restoration shop, so he fixed my bumper for free! In fact, his guys fixed the whole bumper, so now it looks way better than it did before his truck smashed into it :) It really is curious how my car likes to get smashed when I'm not behind the wheel. The whole incident reminded me of the time I took my car to the dealership for repairs and the guy assigned to park it crashed into a minivan.

And yes, I've been working on a new painting for about a month now. I really hope I'll be done with it soon, but I keep running into problems finding decent reference material (and I'm still not any good at drawing dudes). But I don't want this thing to look like shit, so it's gonna take a while to finish ;)

Finally, here's some of the music I've been listening to lately. It's mostly pagan mythology inspired heavy metal this time:

Menhir - Das alte Lied des Windes and Hildebrandslied Teil 1.

A pretty awesome pagan themed metal band from Germany. I also really like their moving interpretation of The Lay of Hildebrand (and actually I wanted to link to the second part of Hildebrandslied which is much more of a folk song than a metal song, but DA sees part of that link as an emoticon and it gets screwed up on this page, so "f" it :) ). Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I'll actually be able to buy their cds any time soon. The $35 it costs to import just one cd from Germany is a bit excessive. :\

Arkona ( Аркона ) - Slavsia, Rus´! and Ой, Печаль-Тоска.

Arkona are Russian, hence the Cyrillic script. They've also got a pretty lead singer, but that's not really why I like them, honest! :D

Týr - Valkrjan.

Excellent Viking themed folk metal from the Faroe Islands.

Turisas - Portage to Unknown Lands.

Ridiculously epic metal from Finland. I swear, Finland has more awesome metal bands than Uwe Boll has brain cells (about seven, give or take a few).

Iced Earth - It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Want to Rock n' Roll).

Sweet AC/DC cover.

And one last one:

Folque - Sinclairvise

A Norwegian(?) folk band I discovered a few months ago. Can't find their cds here either. F'in America... >.<

Later! :salute:
